Centered Kids Coaching Approach
SELF AWARENESS:
Building self awareness is step one. We will support your child in asking and observing their answers to questions like;
How do I feel in this moment?
What’s my energy level?”
The simple yet powerful tactic of checking in on oneself allows us to understand the most helpful and direct path forward.
PRACTICE
We will practice and strengthen big life skills by using smaller, kid friendly activities based on your child’s unique interests.
Does your child love sports? Will s/he practice for hours perfecting the perfect spiral football pass? Maybe they want to learn to draw faces or a beautiful sunset.
Whatever it is, we will practice the tools and steps to achieving those goals in the first 15 minutes of each session. During this process, we are simultaneously working out how to persevere when we meet a challenge, how to speak kindly to ourselves when we get frustrated, when to push on, and when to back off.
BENEFITS:
By building self awareness and practicing big life skills, your child will develop a variety of healthy habits that they can use when encountering challenges or feel “stuck.”
While engaged in these activities, they are grounded in the present moment… in a single football pass, or a paintbrush or pencil stroke. The spiraling thoughts and feelings pause or space is created around them for observation and reflection.
This practice in this controlled environment will sharpen their tools for use in life.
