Using the Mood Meter for Self Awareness

We have to know where we are, in any given moment, to be able to make any kind of change. Self awareness and reflection set the foundation.
Sessions with me will always start with a check-in, identifying energy level and feelings. Not only does this guide the nature of the session, but it also helps kids engage in self reflection and awareness. We use a Mood Meter to help identify the state of their body and mind.
This practice helps build an emotional vocabulary and enhance emotional wellness.
GOAL
Help kids get better at identifying and labeling their emotions, observe them, understand their purpose, pay attention to their physiological aspects, identify which tools to use to either move through a particular emotion, or how to get back to a more desired energy state.
